As a second year student at K, there is a host of programs and experiences designed to help you navigate your way to the exciting and important guideposts that await you this year: choosing your major, thinking about minor areas of study and concentrations, deciding whether to study abroad and where, and many others.
This website is designed to be your information hub as you think about these practicalities, and also to give you guidance as you think about some big questions that college sophomores often find themselves considering.
Take some time to browse the site and familiarize yourself with its resources, and feel welcome to contact Professor Chuck Stull, the Sophomore Class Dean charles.stull@kzoo.edu if you have a question or would like more information.
2024 Sophomore Declaration of Major Day Celebration
The annual Sophomore Declaration of Major (DOM) Day is Wednesday of 5th week of winter quarter (February 7, 2024)! Sophomores will declare their majors online, but we celebrate them on this day! It is a longstanding tradition at K involving the entire community.
Sophomores stop by the Hicks Banquet Room between 10:55 and 1:55 a.m. to sign your department poster, connect with faculty in your major, and celebrate with cake! DOM is a real rite of passage for sophomores where major declaration is celebrated! All sophomores are required to declare their major prior to spring quarter registration.
